Anyone using Linux for the first time will most likely be unaware of the term distro or the fact that Linux is only a small part of the entire system. Most users probably know Linux trough Ubuntu (it is the best known Linux distro after all) and those who have learned about distro’s are facing the awe-inspiring task of finding their path trough this jungle. For many it will seem too big of a hurdle to advance anything beyond Ubuntu, as it is very easy to get swamped by choices and information. Sadly, because of this most will never see the full potential of Linux. A few nerds might see this seemingly endless jungle of distributions as an adventure to try out each and every distro out there. I wanted something that would perform as well as Windows XP and more focused towards power users. My investigation of Linux distro's many years ago took me months and lots more to really decide on my 'new home'. To illustrate, back then Live USB were rare! I hope this guide will give some insight to those facing the same challenge. This guide you will help you:
